wamono art and BUNDLESTUDIO are delighted to announce WAMONO HOUSE, a collaborative exhibition held as a part of program for the Noda Art Festival – NODAMODERN – held in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture, where viewers can encounter timeless Japanese creations. As one of the main venues, BUNDLE GALLERY will offer a new experience where art and architecture intersect.

BUNDLE GALLERY is a renovated space that was originally a private residence designed in 1974 by architect Ren Suzuki, who worked in Le Corbusier’s atelier in the 1950s, after returning to Japan.
Just as there are many different landscapes in nature, this house exudes organic and modern beauty through its varying levels, skylights, and finishes. The open nature of the Noda land is alive and well in this architecture.

The light streaming in through the skylight, the shifting shadows cast on the wall, the temperature of the materials underfoot – all of these things feel like a single artwork that changes over time.
The grounds include the main building in the Shoin-zukuri style, which was built in the Edo period and relocated in the late Meiji period. It is a unique and special place where modernist architecture and traditional Japanese houses are linked together by garden trees and flowers.

Masato Kawai, owner of Bandle Gallery and top interior stylist in Japan, will create a space that flows with new energy by combining contemporary Japanese art works by world-renowned artists from wamono art with European furniture, which he is familiar with, in a space of Edo and modern architecture.
Please take this opportunity to enjoy WAMONO HOUSE. As it is a private house, reservations are required. Please contact Yoneyama at yoneyama@wamonoart.com or Nakagawa at nakagawa@wamonoart.com
